Congratulations to Felicia Lawrence, instructor and undergraduate academic coordinator in the department of speech, pathology and audiology at South Carolina State, for receiving the 2025 Frank R. Kleffner Lifetime Clinical Career Award from the South Carolina Speech-Language-Hearing Association on Friday, February 7, 2025 in Myrtle Beach, SC.

The Frank R. Kleffner Lifetime Clinical Career Award honors an individual for exceptional contributions to communication sciences and disorders spanning at least 20 years. These contributions may include clinical service, supervision or administration of clinical programs, clinical research, or other efforts advancing clinical excellence. Felicia Lawrence was honored for more than 27 years of extraordinary service a Speech language pathologist.

Felicia Glover-Lawrence has built her career on a solid academic foundation, earning her Bachelor’s (1997) and Master’s (2002) degrees in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from South Carolina State University, followed by an Educational Specialist degree in Education Leadership in 2012. These achievements have equipped her with the expertise and leadership skills necessary for her outstanding career in clinical service and education.

Ms. Lawrence has been instrumental in shaping future generations of speechlanguage pathologists. Her contributions include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, developing curriculum, supervising clinical practicums, and fostering cultural competence among her students.

Beyond her role in academia, Ms. Lawrence is a

consummate clinician and entrepreneur. As the founder and operator of Lawrence Speech Services, she has provided exemplary speech-language therapy across diverse settings, including schools, private practices, and healthcare facilities.

Recognized with numerous awards, including Professor of the Year and the Bulldog Award, Ms. Lawrence’s excellence in teaching and service has been consistently celebrated.
