Four SC State nominees on the 2024 South Carolina Football Hall of Fame Ballot

The South Carolina Football Hall of Fame (SCFHOF) has opened online voting for the Class of 2024 with a First Round Nomination Ballot presented by Hotel Hartness.

This year’s ballot includes 75 nominees of players and coaches and 10 legacy nominees. Four nominees are from South Carolina State University:

  • Barney Chavous (Aiken)

  • Chartric Darby (North)

  • Marion Motley (Legacy) bers,

Oliver “Buddy” Pough (Orangeburg)

Voting

online at scfootballhof.org and is open to everyone. The first-round voting period runs through Dec. 16, 2024. SCFHOF supporting memfootball fans, and media outlets can vote for up to four modern era nominees and one legacy nominee from the

ballot or a write-in for the Class of 2024. The final round of voting will follow.

Legacy nominees honor individuals considered outside of the modern era or those who have passed away. Each nominee was either born, grew up, played in South Carolina,

coached at one of the state’s collegiate football programs, or made a significant positive impact on football in South Carolina.

This year, the Class of 2024 nomination list represents a SCFHOF record of 10 South Carolina college football programs.

The Class of 2024 will be enshrined at the organization’s 12th Annual Enshrinement Ceremony on April 17, 2025, at Hotel Hartness in Greenville, South Carolina.
