Friday night at the Colonial Life Arena was nothing short of legendary. The 4 Queens, 1 Stage show brought soul, power, and pure magic to Columbia, SC as four iconic voices – Gladys Knight, Stephanie Mills, Patti LaBelle, and Chaka Khan – lit up the stage in an unforgettable performance.
Gladys Knight, the Empress of Soul, was the first legend to light up the stage. Even after the mic was turned down, Gladys kept singing and performing, walking off the stage still giving her all. Her passion and grace reminded everyone why she’s a timeless treasure.
Stephanie Mills was all smiles, taking us back with those classic sounds that defined a generation. Her voice soared, and the audience responded with love and nostalgia, every note echoing the past with freshness and joy.
Patti LaBelle – well, Patti was simply Patti. She commanded the stage like the queen she is, and pulled the crowd deep into her world. Her moving tribute to late, great musicians while singing That’s What Friends Are For brought tears and standing ovations. Her connection with the audience was both playful and profound.
Finally came Chaka Khan, a burst of energy with electrifying dancers who lit up the stage around her. A special moment came when a playback of Prince’s voice introduced her as his “little sister,” honoring his legacy and reminding everyone of the deep musical connections
