The Fortitude Foundation, Inc. announces new board officers and continues its legacy of transforming communities

The Fortitude Foundation, Inc., a communitydriven 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to uplifting and transforming lives, is proud to announce the appointment of its new board officers. This dynamic team of leaders will guide the Foundation in its mission to enhance the quality of life for residents through education, economic development, and health initiatives.

Over the past decade, the Foundation has provided essential financial resources to community-based organizations and sponsored public service projects that drive sustainable change.

The newly appointed officers of the Fortitude Foundation are as follows: Cheryl Nunnley, Chair; Dr. Lisa Waddell, Vice Chair; Jacqueline Scott Bailey, Secretary; Dantz Woodberry, Treasurer; and Taren Moody, Financial Secretary

The Fortitude Foundation is made up of 14 members. In addition to the executive team, the Board of Directors consists of: Nakell Matthews (Immediate Past Chair), Dr. Andress Carter-Sims, Tacara Carpenter-Young, Rosalyn Glenn, Lindsey Jefferson, Sharon Lynn, Tia Thomas, Rhonda Thompson, and Jaton Smith.

This new leadership team is committed to continuing the Foundation’s work in funding critical programs, projects, and scholarships that benefit the local community. As part of the foundation’s collaboration with Richland County Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority, Inc., they will continue partnerships with initiatives like the annual Red Dress Lun-

cheon, raising awareness about heart disease among women; the Red Diamond Gala, which has awarded over $100,000 in scholarships; and the Women & Girls Conference, aimed at fostering dialogue between mothers and daughters. Their collective vision is to be a beacon of hope and transformation for all people.

The Foundation’s partnerships include impactful organizations such as

the ETV Endowment and SCETV, as well as supporting initiatives like the Women in Leadership: Called to Serve Forum. Additionally, the Fortitude Foundation participates in programs such as Flags Across America and Veterans Affairs Stand Down Events.
