In a heartfelt celebration of its 15th anniversary, the Fortitude Foundation has announced a special contribution to the Girl Scouts of Hyatt Park, Troop 2225. The Foundation presented a $675 gift, covering annual membership fees for 15 young girls—one for each year of Fortitude’s dedicated community service.
The donation was inspired by a letter from Troop Leader Sheila Brown, who reached out on behalf of her scouts. At the same time, the Fortitude Foundation was seeking meaningful opportunities to give back during its anniversary year. “It felt like the perfect alignment—an opportunity to invest in the future by sowing into good ground,” said Cheryl Nunnley, Chair of the Fortitude Foundation.
Vice Chair Dr. Lisa Waddell joined Nunnley in presenting the gift, noting that the support represents more than financial assistance. “This sponsorship reflects our belief in these girls’ potential to grow into empowered leaders, embrace service, and carry forward the values of giving, learning, and leadership,” Waddell said.
The partnership underscores the natural alignment between the two organizations. The Girl Scouts’ mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place
