February 27 – March 1, 2026 Marks Inaugural Black Legacy Weekend

February 27 – March 1, 2026 marks the inaugural year of Black Legacy Weekend — a bold, multi-day cultural movement designed to lay the foundation for generational impact across South Carolina and beyond.

Black Legacy Weekend is curated by The Jeffrey and Harriet Lampkin Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to strengthening communities through education, civic engagement, economic empowerment, youth development, and health equity initiatives.

The Foundation’s ongoing work includes the Golden Gang Senior Enrichment Program, youth arts and mentorship initiatives, college and career readiness support, AI and technology access programming in rural communities, voter engagement efforts, and community-based health advocacy projects.

“This is our foundation year. We are laying bricks for generations to come. Legacy is not what you leave when you’re gone — legacy is what you build while you’re here,” said Professor Jeffrey Lampkin.
