Business of the Week Aisha Johnson’s story is one of determination, creativity, and overcoming adversity. Originally from New Jersey, she moved to Blythewood in 2020, just before the pandemic struck. In 2019, she received a life-changing diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS), which left her disabled. However, Aisha’s spirit remained unbroken.
Anger, Depression, and
Denial: Aisha experienced the emotional rollercoaster that often accompanies a serious health diagnosis. But she faced these emotions head-on.
Despite the challenges, Aisha held onto hope. Her doctor assured her that she would be walking again within a year. But as time passed, and she still couldn’t walk independently.

Walker believes that the role of the sheriff extends beyond law enforcement agencies.
“The things that need to be changed is that we have no police involvement in our communities,” Walker says. “In other words, true community policing — knowing our citizens and allowing our citizens to know us. Our responsibility is not just to our department; it’s to our community.”

Aisha’s business caters to pet owners who want their furry companions to look stylish. From trendy clothing to beds, treats, shampoos, leashes, and harnesses, Fashioned Furbabies offers it all.
Some of her best-sellers include rope leashes and designer tees. Aisha curates fashionable clothing not only
for dogs and cats, but also for her pet parrot, aptly named Journey.
Aisha does not stop with pet fashions. She also sells Pawsone Paw Balm. Aisha’s homemade pet lotion keeps paws moisturized and prevents dryness and cracking. It’s a hit with pet owners who want the best for their beloved animals.
Aisha’s determination extends beyond business. Despite her MS-related challenges, she re-taught herself to drive after 2-3 years of not driving by using specialized devices. Regaining her independence allowed her to take her children to and from
school without relying on others.
A Message of Hope
Aisha wants everyone to know that disability doesn’t define you. She lives by the motto: “I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.”
