Event Highlights:
  • Blood Drive: Partnering with the American Red Cross, Richland County Recreation Commission, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. Omega Gamma Omega Chapter will host a blood drive to collect the emergency need of life-saving blood donations. Every donor will play a crucial role in helping those in need.

  • Free Health Screenings: In addition to the blood drive, attendees will have access to complementary health screenings, including blood pressure checks, biometric testing, Sickle Cell trait testing,

  • Educational Workshops: Engage with professionals in the health, emotional, and physical care fields by offering informative workshops covering topics such as blood donation benefits, healthy living, and preventive care.

  • Community Resources: Explore booths from local healthcare providers, community organizations, and wellness experts offering valuable resources and information.

  • Family-Friendly Activities: The event will feature activities for children, selfie

photo booth, the DARE car from Richland County Sheriff’s Department, and education to promote a healthy lifestyle from an early age.

  • Giveaways and Prizes: Attendees will have the chance to win exciting prizes and giveaways.

  • Support local HBCUs Allen University and Benedict College: We invite the community to support local college students at Allen University and Benedict College by bringing non-perishable food items, bottled water, sports drinks (such as Gatorade), and basic toiletries to the health fair. These contributions will help provide essential resources to students who may be facing food insecurity or financial challenges. Your generosity will make a meaningful difference as we come together to uplift and care for our student community.

  • Partnership with DSS to support Children in foster care: This year OGO has partnered with DSS to assist children in foster care. Often they transport their personal belongings in garbage bags. Community members will have the opportunity to donate new and gently used luggage (preferably rolling), totes, duffel bags (preferably rolling), diaper bags, and backpacks for children in foster care.

The event will be held on March 21, 2026 from 10am-

1pm at North Springs Park, located at 1320 Clemson Road in Columbia, SC.

Blood Donation Information:

Hosted in collaboration with the American Red Cross and Richland County Recreation Commission.

Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in good health. There is no maximum age requirement.
