Meet. Adrienne Spencer was seeded #1 and won 3rd place, and Michelle Quintanilla was seeded #7.
The team finished the season with a 12-6 record and 6 wrestlers qualifying for the Individual State Qualifying Meet. Head Coach Eugene Jacobs and Assistant Brandon Pitts have seen a tremendous growth in the program with the addition of females and upcoming wrestlers from Gibbes and Alcorn Middle Schools.
The Eau Claire HS Shamrocks Wrestling Team was awarded the SCHSL Wrestling Dual Region Championship Runner-Up for Region IV AA 2023-2024. The meet was held at Fairfield Central HS on 1/20/24 in Winnsboro, SC. The following athletes contributed to this honor by victories at the meet; Tyrese Gambrell won Regional Champion wt. class 132 lb., Michelle Quintanilla won Regional Champion wt. class 106 lb., Gary Gownes 2nd place wt. class 157 lb., Eugene Solomon 2nd place wt. class 125 lb., Dylan Avila 3rd place wt. class 138 lb., Jacob Spires 3rd place wt. class 177 lb., Mehki Jones 3rd place wt. class 215 lb., and Dexter Gunter 3rd place wt. class 285 lb. Michelle Quintanilla received the honor of the SCHSL Region Champion Region IV AA Most Valuable Wrestler wt. class 106-144 lb. 2023-24.
The Shamrocks also competed in the 1st SCHSL All Girls State Qualifying
