This season, the Eau Claire HS Wrestling Team had two State Qualifiers, including undefeated Regional Champion Mehki Jones. At the Regional Tournament, Mehki Jones captured the title, while Terrell Wood earned a 3rd-place finish. Strong performances also came from our girl wrestler, Tynasia Tucker, with an
impressive 8 wins – 2 loss record. Derrick Thompson and Jamari Canzeter also helped set the tone for a competitive postseason run.
From February 19–21, 2026, at the Florence Civic Center, our wrestlers represented Eau Claire HS with pride and determination. As 2X State Qualifiers, Terrell Wood (138 lb) battled
hard and secured a 5th-place finish in the State of South Carolina. In addition, Mehki Jones (215 lb) proved why he’s among the elite, earning a 3rd-place finish.
We are extremely proud of all our Eau Claire HS Shamrock wrestlers! The growth, toughness, and discipline displayed on the mat reflect the hard work put in all-season long.
The future is bright as we welcome middle school wrestlers from Alcorn, Gibbs, and Saint Andrews — boys and girls ready to build the next chapter of Shamrock Wrestling. With the continued leadership and dedication of Coach Jacobs, Coach Pitts and Coach Goff, the team is preparing for the next level of success.
Wrestling is a challenging and demanding sport — it’s not for everyone. As Coach Jacobs always says, “This is a Thinking Sport.”
