Dr. Ronald H. High to host musical tribute

Dr. Ronald H. High, pianist, will present “A Musical Tribute in Memory of the Famous Barrett Sisters of Chicago” on Sunday, November 9,

on Thursday, October 30th at 6:00 PM (doors open at 5:30 PM) at Ascension Lutheran Church (827 Wildwood Avenue).

During September and October, congregations across Richland and Lexington counties hosted over 50 small group listening sessions where hundreds of community members were invited to share stories of how they are impacted by community problems. Based on these experiences, the top three problems identified are affordable housing, violence, and education. At this event, community members will take a vote on where to organize our people power

so we can move into the next phase of our annual process— where we learn more about the priority problem and possible solutions. We will use this process to build up to our biggest nonviolent direct action event of the year, the Nehemiah Action Assembly on April 28th, 2026. Earlier this year, over 500 people gathered at our most recent Nehemiah Action to ask our public officials to take action on the lack of affordable housing in Richland County, South Carolina’s inequitable eviction policy, and worsening food insecurity across Columbia.
