Dr. Folks says, “I am truly honored to be recognized as an Emerging Leader. I am excited to continue making a positive impact on education with a keen focus on improving education for our students. I am also looking forward to collaborating with the other Emerging Leaders to share best practices and advocate for Whole Child learning that empowers students and educators.”

Folk is a native of Ehrhardt, SC. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from South Carolina State University. She started her career as a certified educator and taught Kindergarten, third, and fourth grades. She furthered her education by earning a Master of Education in Teaching from the University of South Carolina (USC) and an Educational Specialist in Instructional Technology from Coastal Carolina University. Additionally, she completed her Doctor of Education in Education Systems Improvement Science at Clemson University.

Reeder says, “I am a firm believer in the power of WE; committed to collaborating with all stakeholders to ensure all students can succeed. I am excited and honored to be selected for this prestigious program dedicated to educating the “Whole Child” and to represent Richland Two.”

Reeder is a native of Blythewood, SC, and a proud product of the district. He has experience as a math teacher, teacher leader, and assistant administrator, all at the middle school level. Reeder earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Middle Level Education from Winthrop University. He holds a Master of Education in Educational Administration from USC where he is pursuing a doctoral degree in the Educational Practice and Innovation program.

South Carolina ASCD offers their Emerging Leaders many opportunities to grow their leadership skills and participate in professional development through engaging and structured networking experiences.
