Denmark Technical College honored four distinguished alumni during its Second Annual Alumni Hall of Fame Induction, held as part of the 8th Annual President’s Legacy Scholarship Gala. A highlight of the college’s homecoming festivities, the ceremony recognized individuals who have made significant contributions to their professions, communities and alma mater.
“Each of these inductees represents the very best of Denmark Technical College. Their dedication, leadership, and contributions have had a lasting impact on their fields and on this institution. We are proud to celebrate their legacies and the example they set for future generations of Panthers,” said A. Clifton Myles, Ph.D., provost and executive vice president of Denmark Technical College.
“These inductees exemplify the very best of Denmark Technical College, and their contributions continue to inspire us all. As we honor their legacies, we reaffirm our commitment to cultivating future leaders who will carry on their tradition of excellence,” added James W. Bowden Sr., area commissioner and president of the Denmark Technical College National Alumni Association.
Tina Gathers Brown, Class of 1988, was recognized for her achievements in cosmetology and healthcare. A native of Ruffin, South Carolina, she earned an associate degree in cosmetology from Denmark Technical College before establishing a successful 15-year career as a salon owner in Atlanta. She later transitioned into healthcare,
working as a patient access specialist for a decade. Now residing in Summerville, South Carolina, Brown continues to make an impact on industry.
