Two Richland One high school robotics teams have qualified for FIRST South Carolina’s state district championship. The championship will be held April 3-5 at the Civic Center of Anderson in Anderson.

Dreher High School’s robotics team and Columbia High School’s robotics team

qualified for the state district championship after competing in FIRST South Carolina’s North Charleston and Hartsville qualifiers.

Dreher’s Blue Devil Mechanics robotics team won the North Charleston qualifier, going 12-0 during qualifying rounds. This is the first time in 12 seasons that

Dreher’s team won an inseason competition and the first time in the last five seasons that a team at a South Carolina competition went undefeated during the qualifying rounds. The Blue Devil Mechanics team is ranked fourth out of 35 teams in the state.
