The Central Midlands Regional Transit Authority (The COMET) is proud to announce that Pamela Bynoe-Reed, the organization’s Director of Marketing & Community Affairs/PIO has been selected by Integrated Media Publishing as one of the 2025 SC Women in Business award recipients.

The prestigious award honors selected businesswomen across South Carolina based on career achievements, contributions to their company, and community involvement. The recipients will be featured in the July issues of Greenville Business Magazine, Columbia Business Monthly, Charleston Business Magazine, B2B: The Grand Strand and B2B: Pee Dee Business.

“I am deeply humbled to be distinguished in the company of this group of outstanding female business leaders and award recipients,” said Bynoe-Reed. “It is a blessing to do the work that I enjoy while making a difference in people’s lives with the support of my COMET team and Board of Directors. I work with a phenomenal group of folks who allow me to creatively promote our progressive mobility services to Midlands residents every day. For this I am truly thankful.”

Bynoe-Reed is an awardwinning marketing and communications executive with 15+ years of success across transportation, energy, and healthcare. Previously recognized as a 2021 SC Women in Business “Woman to Watch,”

she continues to break new ground in public transportation marketing. She led the nationally acclaimed ‘Saving Sarah’s Seat’ campaign and played a key leadership role in a $990M voter-approved initiative that transformed public transportation funding in the region. As a respected public speaker and Fall 2025 MBA candidate at USC’s Darla Moore School of Business, she is known for strategic storytelling, crisis communications, and inclusive leadership that drives real results. Her innovative work has earned national recognition and elevated public engagement on both local and global stages.

Under her leadership, The COMET has continued to innovate in public transportation marketing and community outreach, strengthening connections with Midlands residents and promoting the organization’s progressive mobility services. She is an accomplished public speaker who is frequently invited to speak to local, national, and global audiences on the topics of communications, business development and innovative partnerships in public transportation.

The award recipients will be officially honored at the annual awards luncheon on Wednesday, July 16 at The Hyatt downtown Greenville. The event celebrates the spirit and culture of Women in Business, providing an opportunity for women professionals to

network, share their stories, and find inspiration to power their journey forward.

The COMET is a service of the Central Midlands Regional Transit Authority and provides countywide public transit services on 34 fixed routes, USC Transit, OnDemand/ReFlex services, vanpool service for commuters, subsidy programs with Uber and Lyft and DART for transportation to grocery stores and at night, ADA complementary paratransit service throughout Richland and eastern Lexington Counties.
