Springtime in Colombia just got a bit Brighter. Diner in Blanc came early this year, ending the month of May with a bang. Taking place beside the Township Auditorium, this Year’s Diner in Blanc was the hottest one yet.
This year’s “hidden location” was at the corner of Barnwell and Blanding Streets. Party goers came by the hundreds, all dressed to the nines and looking fine in their all-white attire. As sun set, the festivities began with the tradition waving of the napkins, marking the start of the feast. Musical entertainment was provided by DJ Frosty and Money Train. Even though the party was all white, it would be impossible to miss the pearly white smiles on those who enjoyed eating, singing, and dancing the night away.
The event was lack luster! This was my third Diner En Blanc and I doubt I will attend in Columbia. It was held in uneven, gravel-ridden PARKING LOT! White is the standard but shades of cream, off-white, pearl…were rampant. It gave more of a quickly put together family gathering rather than a very cost-expensive event.
