In honor of Diabetes Awareness Day, the Columbia VA Health Care System is hosting a Diabetes Block Party, Thursday, Nov. 14, 2024, at the Auditorium/Building 5 on the Dorn VA Medical Center campus. The block party is aimed to educate, engage, and inspire Veterans to take control of their health through diabetes management and awareness. The event, titled “Moving to Achieve Glycemic Control”, will be packed with informative and fun activities, including a Diabetes Walk, educational booths, free health screenings, and live entertainment.
With diabetes impacting a significant portion of the Veteran population, this event is designed to provide essential information about diabetes management and
prevention. The Block Party will offer Veterans the tools and support they need to achieve and maintain glycemic control while celebrating the importance of community involvement in health and wellness.
