The Columbia Urban League celebrated the achievements of outstanding high school graduates at its annual Scholarship Luncheon, held Friday, August 1, at BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina.
The luncheon honored students from the League’s Project Ready program who collectively received more than $20,000 in scholarships to support their postsecondary education.
“Scholarship support can be the difference between a student attending their dream school or putting their goals on hold,” said J.T. McLawhorn, President and CEO of the Columbia Urban League. “These awards not only recognize academic achievement and leadership but also help ease the financial burdens facing today’s college-bound youth.”
