The Columbia Triad Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) hosted its annual “Evening of Excellence” celebration at the Brooklyn Banquet and Conference Center, honoring outstanding members and sharing powerful stories of growth and achievement.
This year’s Woman of the Year award was presented to Jacqueline Brabham, a dedicated culinary arts teacher for Richland School District One and owner of Pleasurable Palates. Candice McCuien, Founder, Broker-In-Charge, and REALTOR® of Excel Real Estate SC, was recognized as the Business Associate of the Year for her professional achievements and contributions to the business community.
The keynote address was delivered by Genice Hall Fowler, ABWA member and founder of Women Connecting Women, a fellow ABWA chapter in Newberry, SC. Fowler inspired the audience to walk boldly in their purpose and celebrate their unique strengths, echoing the spirit of the evening’s theme: “Next Level U.”
Chapter President Quianna Nathaniel Couthen shared heartfelt remarks and presented each guest with a butterfly pendant—a symbol of transformation and a
Jacqueline Brabham reminder to always show up as their best selves, even when they can’t yet see their own beauty.
The evening also celebrated the national ABWA theme: “Believe, Belong, Become.” Several members gave moving testimonies about how the organization has empowered them to believe in themselves, find a sense of belonging, and evolve into the best versions of who they are.
With a full house and an atmosphere of celebration, connection, and empowerment, the Columbia Triad Chapter looks forward to continuing its legacy of excellence next year.
