Columbia High School’s Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) specialist LaTonya Jackson has been named a recipient of the 2025 Plus Wonder Impact Award, which recognizes JAG educators who “are cultivating connection, empathy and

leadership through innovative classroom practice.”

Plus Wonder is a nonprofit initiative “focused on deep, meaningful connections and purposeful partnerships to create positive change.”

Jackson was one of ten

JAG educators nationwide selected for the award. She received a $500 micro-grant as part of the award.

“I am truly grateful and honored to receive this award. To be recognized not only for representing the JAG Program at Columbia High School, but also as a specialist who is making meaningful connections with students, is incredibly rewarding. This work is bigger than the classroom. It is about building relationships, fostering empathy and helping students develop skills that will carry them into adulthood, their careers and the workplace,” said Jackson.

Richland One’s JAG program gives high school students the skills and support they need to succeed in education, employment and life. The program is offered at all of Richland One’s high schools and Richland One Middle College.
