Filmmaker Eugene Washington had a premiere showing of Coach The Movie on Saturday, March 2, 2023. The focus of the film was to showcase the importance of coaches in the community.

Nearly 500 people attended the movie premiere.

According to Mr. Washington, “The film aims to salute coaches who serve/served our community via their service to our youth, and to challenge young athletes to repay their coaches with their own community service. This really isn’t a story about sports, sports is just the backdrop. This is a story about love, sacrifice, and service.”

The movie featured great local coaches throughout the decades, such as George Glymph, Ben Trapp, Dawn Staley, Pap Lewis, Robert Reynolds and others.
