The Abraham Legacy Group debuts the “Founding Five” cohort, providing small business owners with integrated protection, strategic positioning, and multi-channel media exposure.
Abraham Legacy Group—founded by Tenita Abraham, Nate Abraham Jr., and Natalie Abraham McKinnie—today announced the official launch of the Black Business Growth Initiative, a targeted program designed to strengthen and scale Black-owned enterprises.
The siblings are the children of Jean and Nathaniel Abraham Sr. Nathaniel Sr. as the founder of South Carolina’s oldest surviving African American newspaper, the Carolina Panorama (in publication for over 40 years). Jean was the founder of Abraham Computer Lab, a company that provided computer skills training for senior citizens. The siblings have followed in their parents’ entrepreneurial footsteps. Tenita is the founder of Building Legacies, a financial education and consulting agency. Nate Jr. is the owner of MBD Media LLC, a newspaper publishing company. And Natalie is the owner of the Natalie McKinnie Insurance Agency.
The Black Business Growth Initiative is designed to help the next generation of Black-owned businesses grow and scale. Selected businesses will receive a variety of services, including:
• Print advertisements in the Carolina Panorama Newspaper
• Front-page feature article in the Carolina Panorama Newspaper
• Promotional landing page
• Strategic marketing planning and services
• Comprehensive business risk review
“Most of our businesses aren’t struggling because they’re not good—they’re struggling because nobody’s telling their market who they are, nobody’s protecting what they built, or both,” said Tenita Abraham. “Our family decided to stop talking about the problem and build something that actually fixes it.”
The siblings are uniting their individual skill sets in a single package to help entrepreneurs grow, protect and promote their businesses. Rather than requiring entrepreneurs to coordinate across multiple separate vendors, the Black Business Growth Initiative combines three essential pillars into a single aligned strategy:
• Protection & Operations: Natalie will focus on auditing corporate structures, risk exposure, and operational workflows to ensure businesses can thrive long-term without financial leakages.
• Strategic Positioning: Tenita will focus on establishing brand trust and authority so local businesses become the immediate choice for clients, traditional referrals, and modern AI search tools.
• Market Recognition: Nate will focus on leveraging the Carolina Panorama’s established multi-platform reach—spanning print, web, social, and subscriber networks—to deliver trusted, lasting media coverage.
Application & Selection Details
The inaugural cohort, titled the “Founding Five,” will accept only five businesses. The Abraham family will personally review all applications before selecting the participating companies.
The initiative is structured for businesses at all stages; prior marketing experience, ad campaigns, or existing websites are not required to qualify. Selected businesses in the inaugural cohort will gain access to exclusive founding rates.
