The Delta Eta Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated, a national nursing organization, held its annual scholarship fundraising event on October 11th at the Meeting Place Banquet and Conference Center, transporting attendees back to the vibrant era of the 1980s. This year’s event celebrated the trailblazing nurses who laid the foundation for the profession as it stands today, with members embracing the decade’s iconic glitter and glamour, and commemorating 40 years of Delta Eta’s scholarship awards program.
The highlight of the event was the announcement of this year’s Brenda Brown scholarship recipients, adding to the chapter’s impressive $62,000 scholarship award tally. A total of $6,500 was awarded to deserving nursing students:
Daija Randal, a student and undergraduate member
of Chi Eta Phi Sorority Incorporated at the University of South Carolina received a $3,000 scholarship. Shanelle Taylor, a student at ECPI was awarded $2,000. Fredericka Imani Trotter and Z’Nayia Johnson of Fortis College and ECPI respectively, each received $750 scholarships.
The event was a resounding success, drawing attendance from members of the Phi Phi, Phi Chi, and Zeta Eta Eta chapters, as well as valued supporters of the Delta Eta Chapter.
