What does Dunkin’s, Jimmy Johns, Samuel Adams Columbia Brewhouse, The Barbecue Pit and the Friendly Caterer all have in Common? They are owned by Herbert and Sandra Sims and can be found at Columbia Metropolitan Airport.
Carolina Concessions, LLC and the Columbia Metropolitan Airport hosted a ribbon cutting on Tuesday, February 27th to officially unveil the newest food and beverage concepts available to airport passengers.
During the ceremony, remarks were given by owners of the Carolina Concessions LLC, Herbert and Sandra Sims, along with airport leadership. The Sims have been in the catering business for nearly 33 years they are excited that they have their own name brand Friendly Cater To Go. You may come to the airport and dine in or takeout. You may order your food and pick it up pre-security (i.e. you do not have to go through the security). Call (803) 822-0015 to get curb side service. They are opened from 7:00 am to 7 {: } 0 0 \mathrm { p m } .
“You can’t come to a southern airport and not get southern food,” says Mrs. Sims. She also said that her husband Herbert still uses the lost art of cooking barbeque for 14 to 16 hours with wood at the airport.
Sandra said that they created their brands The Barbecue Pit and The Friendly Caterer To Go. The Sims are also the owners of Dunkin’s, Jimmy Johns, Samuel Adams Columbia Brewhouse, The Barbeque Pit and The Friendly Caterer To Go.
