Editor’s Note: Several years ago, I interviewed the CEO of a major Black-owned construction company. This CEO talked about some of the construction project that his company has been involved in over the years. I was impressed. I joked that just about the only type of structure he hasn’t built was the International Space Station.
That conversation sparked an idea for a series that features the men and women who have conceived, designed, finance and built projects across Black Columbia. These are projects as small as business facilities and houses to major developments such as shopping centers, sports arenas, churches and upscale neighborhoods.
Black Columbia has a rich legacy of individuals and companies that have developed and built significant construction projects in our community. Over the next few months, the Carolina Panorama Newspaper will bring you these stories.
