The Booker T. Washington High School Foundation and Alumni Association are inviting all families, friends, and community leaders to attend the Second Annual Ecumenical Memorial Service honoring alumni and teachers who died during 2025. A candle will be lit for each named called and a video will highlight their memory. The audience will be given an opportunity to speak the names of other Washingtonians—gone but not forgotten Prayers will be offered by lay leaders and clergy of several denominations—all BTW alumni or
legacies. The historic John Work Chorus will render sacred music.
The Second Annual Ecumenical Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on New Year’s Eve, December 31, at First Calvary Baptist Church, 1411 Pine Street in Columbia. The Reverend Dr. Samuel Lewis is pastor.
