In our February 26, 2025 Black History Issue, there was an article on page 9 that stated that Tuskegee University first opened in 1881 as Talladega College. That was incorrect. The school was founded on July 4, 1881, as the Tuskegee Normal School for Colored Teachers. We apologize for any confusion this mistake may have caused.
