BizArts launches Scooby-Doo Murder Mystery at the Columbia Museum of Art

7Sunday, in partnership with the City of Columbia Office of Business Opportunities (OBO), proudly celebrated the launch of BizArts, a groundbreaking series uniting entrepreneurs, artists, and community leaders to drive Columbia’s cultural and economic future.

The inaugural event drew nearly 100 attendees to the Columbia Museum of Art, spotlighting six small businesses at no cost. Two of those businesses were awarded complimentary FastTrac Growth Venture classes from the City of Columbia OBO. The event also earned strong backing from local, county, and state leadership—underscoring BizArts’ role as a vital connector of culture and commerce.

“It’s just an unbelievable experience—great communication, great dialogue. It’s just great to be here, meet people, and learn so much. I look forward to continuing to move Black businesses forward in Columbia and all of South Carolina,” said Sen. Russell Ott

“I support BizArts because it’s important that businesses have the opportunity to come together, collaborate, engage, and learn from other business owners as well as from local practitioners. If you’re a local business owner and you’re saying, ‘Hey, I’m trying to get off the fence, I’m trying to move my business to the next level,’ you need to connect with BizArts. It’s where it’s at. It’s where it’s happening—right here in the city of Columbia in Richland County,” said Gretchen D. Barron, Entrepreneur & Richland County Council Member

“If you’re an artist, if you’re a business owner, you need to be here. This is where you get the resources, the connections that you need

to make sure you’re thriving in your arts business or your traditional business. Be at BizArts, Columbia Museum of Art. You need to be here,” said Tyler Bailey, Attorney & At-Large City of Columbia Council Member
