The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its 2024 Football All-SIAC teams and individual honorees on Tuesday, as voted by the conference’s head coaches and sports information directors.
Benedict College placed six on the SIAC All-Conference team, including four on the first team.
Israel Nwokocha was selected to the first team defensive line. Nwokocha finished second in the SIAC and 10th in NCAA Division II in sacks per game (0.85). He also finished second in the SIAC and 23rd in Division II in tackles for loss per game (1.4).
Ty’Metrius Patterson was selected first team at linebacker. Patterson ranked fifth in the SIAC in tackles for loss as well as total tackles.
Lucas Wynn was selected first team at punter. Wynn ranked third in the SIAC with an average of 41.0 yards per punt. He also had 10 punts of 50 yards or more.
Jaxon Williams was named the SIAC’s first team kick returner. Williams finished first in the nation, averaging 39.1 yards per return. He also returned two kickoffs for touchdowns this season.
Jordan Taylor was named second team offensive lineman. He was Benedict’s leader on the offensive line.
Also named to the second team at linebacker was Isaiah Stephens. Stephens led Benedict and ranked sixth in the SIAC in total tackles (7.6 per game). He ranked third in the SIAC and 44th in the nation in solo tackles.
