Benedict College appoints Terri Hooper as Chief Human Resources Officer

Benedict College announced today the appointment of Ms. Terri Hooper as the new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). With more than 17 years of experience in the field, Ms. Hooper brings a strong foundation in strategic human resources leadership, compliance, employee development, and organizational growth.

Please join me in welcoming Ms. Terri Hooper to Benedict College,” said Dr. Roslyn Clark Artis, President and CEO. “In this essential position, Ms. Hooper will oversee all aspects of human resources operations, from recruitment and succession planning to employee development and benefits administration. She brings valuable experience in designing and implementing HR policies and procedures that support both organizational goals and employee success.”

In her new role at Benedict College, Ms. Hooper will lead the Human Resources unit and oversee a wide range of critical functions, including employment, recruitment, onboarding, position manage-

ment, payroll and compensation, compliance, policy development, insurance, and workforce development. She will work closely with the College’s General Counsel and the President’s Executive Cabinet to align HR strategies with institutional goals.

A native of Edgefield, South Carolina, Ms. Hooper holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Criminal Justice Administration from Claflin University in Orangeburg, SC, and a Master of Science in Management from Southern Wesleyan University in Central, SC.
