B Strong Group announces inaugural South Carolina Sickle Cell Day at the Capitol

The South Carolina CBO Collective Caucus is proud to announce its inaugural South Carolina Sickle Cell Day at the Capitol on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. EST at the South Carolina State House in Columbia.

Held in recognition of both World Sickle Cell Day and Juneteenth, this important event will bring together caregivers, patients, healthcare professionals, advocates, legislators, community leaders, and supporters from across the state to raise awareness about sickle cell disease and the urgent need for education, support, and action.

South Carolina Sickle Cell Day at the Capitol is designed to amplify the voices of individuals and families impacted by sickle cell disease while encouraging meaningful conversations around healthcare access, advocacy, research, and community support. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with advocates, supporters, hear personal stories of those impacted by sickle cell disease, and learn more about the realities faced by those living with sickle cell disease every day.

“World Sickle Cell Day is a powerful call to action for all of us,” said Brenda Green, Founder & CEO, The B Strong Group. “At The B Strong Group, we know that lasting change happens when organizations come together with urgency, purpose, and a shared commitment to the people we serve. This collaboration is about more than awareness; it is about building stronger community response, expanding access to support, and standing with families affected by sickle cell disease.”

Community members, organizations, and supporters are encouraged to attend and stand together in support of the sickle cell community.
