“When we started Ascend Studios, our goal was to create the kind of place where individuals who were really working to elevate their brand and elevate their business, could do it,” said Charlene Keys Bowen, owner of Ascend Studio. “We wanted a location for beauty, image and wellness professionals where they would be able to come in and provide services to people in an environment that made their clients feel comfortable, in an environment that made them feel good, and in an environment that really lifted their brand.”

Bowen said that she originally explored opening a wellness franchise, but she couldn’t find anything that matched her vision.
“I looked at some of the franchises and took calls with some of them, but none gave me the feel that I wanted for the client base that I wanted to attract,” she said, “so I did it on my own.”
