American Gold Star Mothers of South Carolina unveils New Leadership and Strategic Plans for 2024

The American Gold Star Mothers of South Carolina, a pivotal organization dedicated to honoring the legacy of fallen heroes and providing support to their families, is excited to announce the installation of its new Executive Board. The election, a significant event in the organization’s history, took place in Columbia, SC, on January 20, 2024.

Introducing the New Executive Board:

  • President: Dr. Tia Jones of Blythewood, SC. Proud mother of 1st Lt Justice R. Stewart, US Marines.

  • Vice President: Mrs. Jane Caughman of Lexington, SC. Proud mother of SPC Thomas D. Caughman, US Army.

  • Treasurer: Mrs. Lucy Dillon of Aiken, SC. Proud mother of Cpl. Matthew V. Dillon, US Marines.

  • Secretary: Ms. Deborah Williams of Rockhill, SC. Proud mother of CPO Kendrick D. Williams, US Navy.

  • Chaplain: Mrs. Margaret Moody of Fairfax, SC. Proud mother of Maj Terry D. Moody, US Army.

With a wealth of experience and unwavering dedication, these leaders are committed to advancing the vision and mission of the organization.

Dr. Tia Jones, President, states: “United by the profound bonds of love and sacrifice, our new board embarks on a mission to honor our fallen heroes’ legacies and foster a supportive community. We are committed to being a beacon of hope and remembrance in South Carolina, turning personal losses into collective strength.”

    1. “Operation Legacy Outreach”: Launching educational programs in local schools to foster understanding and support for military families.
