In addition to her educational and ministry accomplishments, Dr. Washington completed Chaplaincy and Pastoral Education training at Prisma Health Richland and Prisma Health Baptist hospitals, earning certification as a chaplain. Her training strengthened her ability to provide compassionate spiritual care to those in need, reflecting her lifelong commitment to service and
faith.
On Sunday, March 2, 2025, Dr. Washington was honored at Bible Way Church of Atlas Road where she serves as a senior Elder. in a ceremony led by her Pastor, Senator Darrell Jackson, who presented her with an official Senate Resolution recognizing her trailblazing accomplishments. The church celebrated Dr. Washington as a faithful and God-fearing pioneer, acknowledging her historic achievement at CIU and her unwavering dedication to faith and leadership.
During the presentation, Senator Jackson shared heartfelt words: “Thank you, Dr. Washington, for being a faithful servant of God, a woman of prayer, and a Christlike role model for others. May God continue to bless you and smile upon you.”
Throughout her journey, Dr. Washington has drawn wisdom and guidance from her beloved mentor, Mother Janie Jackson, who she credits with helping shape her spiritual foundation and leadership path.
