Benedict College proudly announces the return of the 37th Annual Harambee Festival, one of the Midlands’ most anticipated cultural celebrations, set for Saturday, April 18, from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Charlie W. Johnson Stadium.
Recognized as Columbia’s “Best Neighborhood Festival,” the Harambee Festival continues its legacy of uniting the community through music, culture, family fun, and vital resources. This year’s festival promises an unforgettable experience for attendees of all ages.
Festivalgoers can look forward to a dynamic lineup of live entertainment, including nationally acclaimed gospel artist Zacardi Cortez, bringing a powerful and uplifting performance. The stage will also feature inspiring performances by Kristen Jamison of Sunday Best, Benedict College’s own Regina Skeeter, the Bible Way Church Children’s Choir, and a special family-friendly appearance by Megan Piphus of Sesame Street.
Headlining the event is Southern Soul favorite 803 Fresh, known for the hit “Boots on the Ground,” setting the tone for an energetic line dance celebration to cap off the day’s festivities.
In addition to live entertainment, attendees will enjoy:
-
A vibrant food and merchandise village featuring local vendors
-
A Children’s Village with bounce houses and interactive activities
-
FREE medical screenings and fresh food giveaways (while supplies last)
“The Harambee Festival is more than an event—it’s a celebration of unity, culture, and community impact,” said
a Benedict College representative. “We are proud to continue this tradition and invite everyone to come together for a day of joy, connection, and service.”
