The African American Historical Society of Irmo, in partnership with the Town of Irmo, proudly announces the 6th Annual Juneteenth Celebration, to be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Moore Park, 7473 Church Street, Irmo, SC 29063, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. This free, family friendly community event embraces the 2026 theme: “Celebrating Our Past. Empowering Our Future.”
Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and stands as a powerful reminder of freedom, resilience, and cultural heritage. This year’s celebration will bring together history, education, entertainment, and community engagement.
The event will feature:
· Popup Irmo History Museum highlighting local African American heritage
· Food and Retail Vendors offering a variety of cuisine and handcrafted goods
· Interactive Kid’s Zone with activities for children of all ages
· Health & Wellness Zone providing resources and community health information
· Live Entertainment, including a featured performance by Tia Durant, a former contestant on The Voice.

Community Food Drive
A community food drive will take place from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church, 1150 Lake Murray Blvd., Irmo, SC. Donations are welcomed to support families throughout our communities.
