The City of Columbia and Karamu will host the Karamu!! Celebrate 19th Annual Statewide Black History Parade and Festival on Saturday, February 24, 2024. This event is for fun for the whole family!

The parade grandstand will be at 2300 Greene Street, Columbia, SC 29205. It will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 1 {: } 0 0 \mathrm { p }. \mathrm { m }. – 5 {: } 0 0 \mathrm { p }. \mathrm { m } .

Black conservative group to hold national gala in Columbia

An organization that bills itself as the premier hub for Black conservatives in America, will hold a national gala at the Columbia Metro Convention Center.

Former President Donald Trump is expected to be the keynote speaker at the Black Conservative Federation (BCF) Honors Gala on February 23 in Columbia.

The event’s theme is Restoring the American Dream and “serves as a platform to honor individuals who have made remarkable contributions to the conservative

movement, showcasing their achievements and positive influence,” according to the BCF website.

“Our special guest, The Honorable President Donald J. Trump, is sure to energize the audience as we head into one of the most important election seasons in our nation’s history,” event organizers wrote. “We couldn’t be more excited to have them.”

The BCF is a millennialaligned Black organization that aims to promote economic stability, educational opportunity, and community

empowerment, according to its website.

Former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Dr. Ben Carson, who served in the Trump administration, is expected to receive the organization’s Lifetime Achievement Award during the event. Kary Millben will be given the BCF President’s Award and C.J. Pearson will be given BCF Champion Award.

The gala is scheduled for Feb. 23 from 6 p.m. to 9 \mathrm { p. m } . at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. Tickets range from $150 to $500 each.
